-
Binoculars if you are at all interested in birds
(there is a bird book at the house, but best to take
your own if you are a serious bird watcher);
-
Snorkelling gear - get the best you can afford
before you go. Alternatively, Porridge and Jeanell have good quality masks, snorkels and fins for rent at £2 per day.
-
High factor sun cream - the sun is deceptively
fierce;
-
Mosquito cream or
Citronella Oil mixed with a base oil;
-
Take a bag of nightlight candles, which can sit in
their metal holders and are safer than full size candles
-
Tshirts/shorts/sarongs - nobody dresses up in
Castara. Only bring a smart dress/shirt if you intend to
eat out in smart restaurants down the island;
-
Beach Towels;
-
Anything that you simply can’t live without (your
favourite ground coffee, Shreddies if you are Freya,
books);
-
Torch, lighter and matches in waterproof bag;
-
And most important, HAVE A BRILLIANT TIME! Tobago
works its magic on most people.
